Airtel Zambia and UNICEF are expanding digital access to education, with the partnership now connecting 300 schools and providing internet connectivity to more than 292,000 learners across the country.
During a visit to St. Monica’s School in Matero, Airtel Africa CEO Sunil Taldar and Airtel Zambia Managing Director Hussam Baday engaged with students and observed how improved connectivity is enhancing access to digital learning resources and creating new educational opportunities.
The initiative, implemented in partnership with UNICEF and supported by Zambia’s Ministry of Education, is expected to grow significantly, with Airtel Zambia aiming to connect 1,000 schools within the next year. The company said the collaboration highlights the role of partnerships between the private sector, government and development organisations in accelerating digital transformation in education and expanding opportunities for learners.
