SES has announced an expanded strategic investment and collaboration with Elveo Mobile, the new company created through the completion of the Lynk and Omnispace merger.

Elveo brings together the heritage of two pioneers in direct-to-device (D2D) services and plans to deliver mobile connectivity from space directly to phones, devices, and machines around the world.

Under the collaboration, SES will support Elveo in accelerating the development and delivery of cost-effective global D2D services. The companies will also work on global spectrum initiatives designed to unlock additional D2D capabilities.

The partnership will give Elveo access to SES’s global space and ground infrastructure while supporting its go-to-market, engineering, operations, and regulatory requirements. SES customers across mobile telecommunications, enterprise, and government sectors are expected to benefit from expanded connectivity options.

The collaboration will also combine Elveo’s low-Earth orbit (LEO) network with SES’s geostationary orbit (GEO) and medium-Earth orbit (MEO) networks, creating an integrated multi-orbit D2D satellite solution designed to extend connectivity to people and machines globally.
