Airtel Malawi has announced the first 25 beneficiaries of the Airtel Nzeru Fund Tech Scholarship, a programme funded by the Airtel Africa Foundation to support young Malawians pursuing studies in technology and science-related fields.

The beneficiaries come from 17 districts across Malawi and will undertake eight programmes at the Malawi University of Science & Technology (MUST), including Sustainable Energy Engineering, Metallurgy, Computer Systems, and Cyber Security.

The scholarship builds on Airtel Nzeru Connect, an initiative providing free internet connectivity to primary and secondary schools across Malawi. The latest programme expands the focus from improving access to digital resources to supporting students pursuing higher education in science, technology, and engineering.

Airtel Malawi said the scholarship is designed to help develop the country’s next generation of innovators while contributing to the growth of a technology-driven workforce.

The initiative highlights the growing role of digital access, education, and technology skills in preparing young people for future opportunities across Malawi’s evolving technology ecosystem.
