Etisalat has completed its first procurement contract evaluation using an agentic artificial intelligence (AI) solution deployed within its private cloud environment, marking a milestone in the group’s AI-driven business transformation.
The implementation demonstrates how agentic AI can support a critical enterprise process by combining intelligent automation with secure infrastructure to improve procurement efficiency, accelerate evaluations and support data-driven decision-making.
Etisalat is developing the solution as an end-to-end capability covering key stages of the procurement lifecycle. AI agents can support complex workflows, analyse information and assist with contract evaluation processes. The company estimates that the solution could reduce the overall procurement lifecycle by approximately 50%, while improving productivity, evaluation efficiency and the consistency of decisions.
The solution operates within etisalat’s private cloud environment, allowing the company to use advanced AI capabilities while maintaining requirements for data privacy, cybersecurity, compliance and governance.
The initiative forms part of the group’s wider strategy to embed AI into business operations where it can automate repetitive and time-intensive tasks, augment human expertise and provide teams with faster access to relevant insights.
Etisalat’s approach is supported by its Responsible AI Framework and governance model, which incorporates risk assessment, privacy, security, compliance, transparency and human oversight throughout the AI lifecycle. Its governance processes cover AI initiatives from initial assessment and approval through deployment, monitoring and reporting.
The successful contract evaluation provides a foundation for extending agentic AI capabilities across the procurement lifecycle. As the solution develops, the company aims to improve process efficiency and enable procurement teams to focus more on strategic activities, supplier engagement and value creation.
The initiative highlights the growing use of agentic AI in enterprise operations, where organisations are exploring ways to automate complex workflows while maintaining appropriate security and oversight.
