stc pay Bahrain has partnered with Mastercard to launch Click to Pay as a core card feature, becoming one of the first providers in Bahrain to introduce the capability on eligible cards.
The new feature enables stc pay cardholders to complete online purchases with a single click using device-based biometric authentication and passkeys, eliminating the need to manually enter card details. Powered by Mastercard’s digital payment standards, Click to Pay uses tokenization technology to replace sensitive card information with secure digital tokens, helping reduce fraud while delivering a faster and more secure checkout experience.
The solution also supports password-free authentication through fingerprints or facial recognition using Mastercard Payment Passkeys. By removing the need for passwords and one-time passcodes, the feature is designed to enhance convenience while strengthening the security of online transactions across supported merchants and devices.
According to the two companies, the launch supports the continued evolution of Bahrain’s digital payments ecosystem by making e-commerce transactions more seamless, secure and user-friendly. The initiative also aligns with Mastercard’s global strategy to advance tokenized digital payments and expand secure online commerce.
The rollout highlights the growing collaboration between fintech companies and global payment providers to accelerate digital payment adoption, improve customer experiences and support the transition towards a more connected and cashless economy.
