Airtel Fursa Lab has been officially launched at Kijitonyama Secondary School in Tanzania, marking a new initiative aimed at strengthening digital skills, innovation and technology education among young people.
The launch was officiated by Esi Prah, Head of Programmes at Airtel Africa Foundation, alongside representatives from Airtel and Dar Teknohama Business Incubator (DTBi).
The initiative brings together Airtel and DTBi to create an enabling environment where students can learn and explore technology, build digital skills, and develop their creativity and entrepreneurial potential.
Through the Fursa Lab, students are expected to gain practical opportunities to develop future-ready skills and explore how technology can be applied to address real-world challenges.
The launch also highlights the growing role of private-sector partnerships in supporting digital education and innovation. By providing students with access to technology-focused learning environments, initiatives such as Fursa Lab can help young people develop skills relevant to an increasingly digital economy.
Representatives at the launch included Jackson Mbando, Airtel Relations Manager; Beatrice, Regulatory and Corporate Communications Director at Airtel; Promise Mwakale, Partnership Manager at DTBi; and Jennifer Mbuya, Corporate Communications, CSR and Strategic Partnerships.
The initiative is expected to support students in building confidence with technology while encouraging creativity, problem-solving and entrepreneurial thinking.
The Airtel Fursa Lab at Kijitonyama Secondary School adds to efforts to expand access to digital learning and equip Tanzania’s young people with the skills needed to participate in the country’s evolving technology and innovation ecosystem.
