Weego has raised $1.1 million from Azur Innovation Management Fund to expand its multimodal transport platform in Morocco and accelerate regional growth. The funding will enable the startup to modernize urban transport access, reduce congestion, and support cities in meeting their 2030 development targets.

Founded by Saad JITTOU and Mor Niane, Weego provides software that integrates public and private transport options—including buses, trams, taxis, and private mobility services—into a single digital interface. The platform allows commuters and businesses to plan and track journeys in real time, bridging gaps in existing transport infrastructure and enhancing urban mobility efficiency.

Morocco will serve as the primary deployment base for Weego, with plans to expand into other African markets, Europe, and the Middle East, where urban mobility challenges mirror those in North and West Africa. The company aims to establish a regional footprint while improving access to reliable, multimodal transport solutions in rapidly growing cities.

In parallel, Weego is growing its business-to-business offering, helping companies manage employee transport logistics, optimize costs, and reduce carbon emissions. By providing data-driven tools for fleet and transport management, the platform supports sustainable urban development and smarter city operations.

The funding will be used to strengthen Weego’s engineering team, improve data integration, expand the platform into additional Moroccan cities, accelerate B2B customer acquisition, and prepare for international expansion. The investment reflects increasing interest in smart-city technologies that enhance urban efficiency and competitiveness across Africa.
