Absa Bank Kenya has announced an expanded strategic collaboration with Airtel Money Africa aimed at strengthening digital payment capabilities and improving financial access for customers and merchants across its ecosystem. The partnership is designed to enhance transaction flexibility and support the continued growth of cashless financial services.

Through this integration, customers are now able to make payments via Lipa na Absa, while merchants can receive funds directly through Airtel Money. This creates a seamless two-way payment experience that simplifies transactions and improves efficiency across both platforms.

The bank noted that the partnership is already unlocking new opportunities within the digital payments space, supported by the strong growth of Airtel Money’s mobile money business. This trend reflects increasing demand for convenient, secure, and scalable digital financial solutions in the market.

Beyond payments, Absa emphasized that the collaboration is also advancing broader financial inclusion objectives by enabling more efficient payment and collection systems for businesses and individuals. Key sectors such as agriculture are expected to benefit significantly, particularly in areas such as bulk payments and ecosystem digitization.

Overall, the partnership underscores a shared commitment between Absa Bank and Airtel Money to strengthen digital payment infrastructure, enhance customer choice, and accelerate the transition toward more connected and cashless financial ecosystems.
