Mastercard has renewed its multi-year agreement with Bahrain-based fintech INFINIOS to advance business-to-business (B2B) travel payments across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), supporting the continued digital transformation of the region’s travel sector.

The renewed agreement builds on a collaboration that began in 2023 with the introduction of the Mastercard Wholesale Program (MWP), a virtual card-based B2B payment solution designed to digitise transactions between travel buyers and suppliers.

The Mastercard Wholesale Program helps automate B2B travel payment processes, reducing reliance on manual transactions and addressing associated operational challenges. Through the solution, merchants and travel agencies benefit from improved automation, transparency and payment security, alongside greater liquidity and flexibility.

The expanded agreement will support the scaling and commercialisation of MWP across additional markets in the MENA region.

Sherif Abdelsalam, CEO of INFINIOS, said the renewed collaboration would accelerate the adoption of digital travel payments and support faster, more transparent and automated B2B transactions.

He added that the company’s focus on virtual corporate cards is aimed at unlocking liquidity across the travel ecosystem and helping businesses expand their operations.

The partnership comes amid growing adoption of digital payment options among travellers in MENA. Online travel bookings in the region increased by 63% in 2025 compared with the previous year.

Meanwhile, bookings through travel intermediaries from MENA markets are projected to exceed $100 billion by 2028, supported by digital innovation and changing consumer preferences.

Saud Swar, Mastercard’s country manager for Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan and other Levant markets, said the renewed agreement represents an expansion of the companies’ fintech collaboration and supports the travel sector’s growing reliance on digital and automated payment solutions.
