Algeria has inaugurated the Algerian National Center for Digital Services, marking a major milestone in the country’s efforts to strengthen digital sovereignty and accelerate the modernization of its national digital infrastructure.
The inauguration was led by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and attended by senior government and military officials, highlighting the strategic importance of the initiative to Algeria’s national digital transformation agenda. The new facility is the country’s first sovereign digital infrastructure of its kind and is expected to strengthen the protection and management of critical national digital assets.
The National Center for Digital Services will host critical government data within Algeria, supporting the continuity of digital services, improving interoperability between public institutions, and enhancing the efficiency of services delivered to citizens. The project is designed to reinforce the country’s digital resilience while supporting future digital innovation.
Built to international standards for construction, cybersecurity and data management, the infrastructure consists of two interconnected national data centers located in Algiers and Blida. Operating in a redundant configuration, the facilities provide up to 99.98% service availability while enabling real-time data synchronization, centralized incident management and rapid disaster recovery.
The launch represents another important step in Algeria’s digital transformation journey, providing the secure digital infrastructure needed to support government modernization, strengthen cybersecurity and advance the country’s long-term vision for a resilient and sovereign digital economy.
