MoneyHash, a payment orchestration platform operating across emerging and global markets, has partnered with South African fintech and payments provider Ozow to expand access to local online payment methods in South Africa.

Through the partnership, businesses using MoneyHash can connect to Ozow through their existing MoneyHash integration, eliminating the need to build and maintain a separate technical connection. The integration will allow merchants to offer more payment options to South African customers while managing their broader payment operations through a single platform.

The partnership comes as businesses increasingly look beyond traditional card payments to accommodate different customer preferences. However, managing multiple payment providers, technical integrations, reporting systems and operational processes can increase complexity for merchants. MoneyHash addresses this challenge by enabling businesses to connect with and manage multiple payment processors and methods through a unified infrastructure.

Hwan Lee, Regional Director for Africa at MoneyHash, said his experience in South Africa’s payments ecosystem had shown how quickly the market was evolving and the challenges businesses face as they expand their payment operations. He noted that payment orchestration presents an opportunity to connect established local payment infrastructure with businesses seeking to grow in South Africa and across the continent.

The agreement coincides with Ozow marking 12 years in South Africa’s digital payments market. Its payment capabilities include Pay by Bank, card payments, Google Pay, Apple Pay and Samsung Pay, alongside instant payouts and withdrawals available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, voucher payments and pay by crypto.

Catherine Korsten, Chief Growth Officer at Ozow, said the partnership creates another way for merchants to access the company’s payment services while reducing the complexity of integrating and managing multiple payment solutions. She added that demand for simpler and more flexible payment acceptance options has grown alongside changes in South Africa’s digital payments landscape.

For MoneyHash, the agreement forms part of its wider strategy to expand its payment infrastructure across Africa by connecting businesses with established local providers. The company offers payment routing, transaction management and reporting through a unified platform, helping merchants manage multiple payment methods and providers as they expand into new markets.

The partnership also follows MoneyHash’s appointment of Hwan Lee as Regional Director for Africa. Lee previously held a leadership role at Ozow, bringing experience in South Africa’s payments sector to MoneyHash’s regional expansion efforts.
