Airtel Africa Foundation has partnered with Zoom and Sibia Technologies through Airtel Tanzania to explore digital healthcare solutions aimed at improving access to medical services and communication between patients and healthcare providers.
The initiative will focus on virtual consultations, patient engagement and improved communication between patients and medical professionals. The proposed solutions are expected to give patients additional ways to access healthcare while helping doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers communicate and collaborate more effectively.
The partnership forms part of the Airtel Africa Foundation’s expansion into new African markets in 2026, as it seeks to use connectivity and technology to improve access to essential services.
By exploring digital healthcare solutions, the Foundation and its partners aim to address barriers to accessing medical services and support more responsive healthcare delivery. Virtual consultations could provide additional options for patients seeking medical guidance, while improved communication tools could support coordination between healthcare providers and the communities they serve.
The initiative reflects Airtel Africa Foundation’s broader commitment to digital inclusion, using technology to make essential services more accessible and responsive to community needs across Africa.
