Safaricom Ethiopia has expanded its 4G network to Sawla, Selam Ber, Basketo, Leha, Beto and surrounding towns in Southern Ethiopia, extending mobile connectivity to more communities across the region.
The network rollout follows a meeting between Safaricom Ethiopia representatives and Sawla City Mayor Belayneh Bahiru, who welcomed the expansion and highlighted the importance of reliable telecommunications infrastructure to local development.
The new coverage is expected to improve access to digital services for residents and businesses in underserved areas, supporting greater participation in the digital economy and creating new opportunities for communities in the region.
As part of the rollout, Safaricom Ethiopia will also inaugurate customer service shops in Sawla and surrounding locations, giving customers easier access to telecommunications services and support.
The expansion adds to Safaricom Ethiopia’s efforts to extend mobile connectivity and digital services to more communities across the country.
