Red Dot Distribution has announced a new leadership structure, appointing Nishad Mairal as Chief Executive Officer as the East African-born technology distributor enters its next phase of growth.
The leadership transition also sees co-founder Munir Bharwani move from the role of Chief Executive Officer to Managing Director, where he will focus on the company’s long-term strategic direction while supporting continued expansion across its markets.
Mairal’s appointment follows more than 16 years with Red Dot Distribution. Since joining the company in 2009 as Country Manager, he has held a series of leadership positions, most recently serving as General Manager for Marketing and Sales across the company’s Middle East and Africa operations. His promotion reflects Red Dot Distribution’s commitment to developing leadership from within while maintaining continuity during a period of growth.
According to the company, the transition represents a new chapter built on more than 25 years of long-term partnerships, innovation and business evolution. Bharwani will continue to provide strategic oversight as Managing Director, ensuring the company’s founding vision remains central to its future direction while Mairal oversees day-to-day operations and execution.
The appointment comes at a time when leadership transitions are becoming increasingly common across Africa’s technology sector, as organisations strengthen succession planning and position themselves for the next phase of digital growth.
