Meta has introduced Muse Image, its first image generation model developed by Meta Superintelligence Labs, marking the company’s latest step in advancing generative AI capabilities.
The new model is being integrated directly into Meta AI and is rolling out across Instagram and WhatsApp, with support for Facebook and Messenger expected to follow. Rather than launching as a standalone application, Muse Image is designed to bring AI-powered image generation into platforms already used by billions of people.
According to Meta, Muse Image enables users to create images using natural language, edit existing photos, remove unwanted objects, generate infographics with readable text, and even create functional QR codes from simple descriptions. The model also works alongside Meta’s Muse Spark reasoning model to combine multiple images and incorporate real-time web information into image generation.
The launch reflects the intensifying competition in the generative AI market, where technology companies are embedding AI-powered creative tools directly into their products to enhance user experiences and expand everyday AI applications.
By integrating Muse Image across its ecosystem, Meta is continuing its strategy of making AI creation tools more accessible while strengthening its position in the rapidly evolving artificial intelligence landscape.
