Zoho, a global technology leader, has significantly expanded its tech upskilling initiatives across Africa, enhancing its commitment to technological development on the continent. The company unveiled several new programs and partnerships during its annual user conference, Zoholics South Africa.
In South Africa, Zoho is focused on contributing to the country’s economic future through extensive tech upskilling efforts. Partnerships with BabesGotBytes and CodeTelligence are central to this initiative. The collaboration with BabesGotBytes will empower girls and women with digital skills via a year-long boot camp, covering areas such as digital literacy, app development, and UI/UX design.
Zoho’s partnership with CodeTelligence aims to support economically disadvantaged youth by providing IT skills training. This includes financing a six-month boot camp for 36 young individuals, equipping them with skills in end-user computing, UI/UX design, and data science.
Beyond South Africa, Zoho has announced additional upskilling collaborations across Africa. In Kenya, the company is partnering with MOMO Pencils on the “Hope for Literacy” program, which seeks to combat intergenerational poverty by providing quality education and promoting environmental sustainability.
Another initiative in Kenya involves a collaboration with J-Hub Africa at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. This partnership will focus on training technology students in Zoho’s cloud-based business software, preparing them for various industry roles.
In Nigeria, Zoho has teamed up with She Code Africa (SCA) to enhance the skills of African women in technology. The partnership includes mentor the Trainer workshops for SCA Academy trainers, who will then instruct students on building low-code applications.
