Vodacom Lesotho has proactively advanced data security and management within the mountain kingdom by hosting a comprehensive data protection and management workshop. This full-day event, attended by representatives from the Lesotho Communications Authority, the Central Bank of Lesotho, and various industry players, focused on discussing industry best practices, regulatory compliance, and strategies for safeguarding consumer rights.
The workshop was organized in response to the increasing importance of data safety amid rising fraud and cybercrime concerns. The session underscored the necessity of strong data protection measures and enforcement to support the digital economy and foster innovation, particularly with emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Analysts emphasized that effective data aggregation, storage, processing, and secure transfer across borders are crucial for developing the digital economy.
