Orange has launched the Orange Digital Center (ODC) Guinea-Bissau, marking a milestone in fostering digital skills and supporting local entrepreneurship. This initiative introduces a comprehensive ecosystem offering free programs tailored for youth, including hands-on digital training, project leadership support, and startup acceleration with funding opportunities.
The ODC Guinea-Bissau is part of a larger network comprising 26 centers across Africa, the Middle East, and Europe, facilitating the exchange of expertise and promoting youth employability, innovative entrepreneurship, and local digital ecosystem development.
High-ranking political officials, including the Minister of Transport, Telecoms, and Digital Economy, alongside Orange Guinea Bissau’s management team and the Orange Africa and Middle East Management Committee, attended the inauguration ceremony.
Brelotte Ba, Deputy CEO of Orange Middle East and Africa, emphasized that the ODC is pivotal in driving Guinea-Bissau’s digital future, offering transformative opportunities through cutting-edge resources. The center aims to inspire and empower a new generation of digital leaders, fostering an inclusive digital economy.
Sekou Dramé, CEO of Sonatel and Chairman of the Board of Orange Bissau, highlighted the center’s role in nurturing young talents, enhancing the digital ecosystem’s sustainability and dynamism. This investment underscores Orange’s commitment to societal transformation through technology and digital education.
Therese Nogoye Tounkara, CEO of Orange Guinea Bissau, affirmed Orange’s dedication to leveraging digital transformation for sustainable development goals in Guinea-Bissau.
