Egypt’s National Telecommunications Institute (NTI) has signed a cooperation protocol with the Egyptian Satellite Company (Nilesat) to develop specialised training programmes and strengthen the technical and professional capabilities of Nilesat employees.
The agreement will see the two institutions design and deliver training programmes tailored to Nilesat’s operational requirements and workforce development needs, with the aim of improving employee efficiency and institutional performance.
The protocol was signed by Ahmed Khattab, Director of NTI, and Joseph Victor, Director General of the General Directorate of Training at Nilesat, on behalf of the company’s Chairman and Managing Director, Sameh Qatta.
The training programme will cover several technical areas, including networking and infrastructure, systems management, databases and operations, cybersecurity and penetration testing, data centres and cloud computing, artificial intelligence, data analytics, software development and automation.
Additional areas will include information technology and digital transformation, wireless communications, optical fibre, project management, leadership and professional skills.
The initiative will combine specialised courses, workshops and practical exercises with assessments to measure learning outcomes. Participants will also have opportunities to obtain professional certifications under the supervision of experienced trainers.
NTI Director Ahmed Khattab said the partnership reflects the institute’s approach to developing tailored training pathways based on the operational requirements of individual organisations. He added that the collaboration would help prepare professionals to work with emerging technologies in communications, space, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.
Joseph Victor, Nilesat’s Director General of Training, said the agreement would support workforce development and knowledge exchange between the two institutions. He also identified satellite communications and digital broadcasting systems as potential areas for further cooperation.
The organisations will further collaborate on developing specialised digital talent through NTI training programmes and initiatives, alongside joint workshops and other capacity-building activities.
