Gabon has launched a new Electronic Document Management (GED) platform as part of efforts to modernise public administration, reduce reliance on paper-based processes and improve the efficiency of government services.
The platform was officially launched on September 16, 2026, at the General Secretariat of the Government (SGG), in the presence of Mark-Alexandre Doumba, Minister of Digital Economy, Digitalisation and Innovation, and Abdu Razzaq Guy Kambogo, Secretary-General of the Government.
Developed with the expertise of the National Agency for Digital Infrastructure and Frequencies (ANINF), the GED platform enables government administrations to register, classify, search, share and preserve documents electronically and securely.
The system is designed to reduce paper-based workflows, improve correspondence tracking and accelerate the processing of administrative files. Government employees can locate documents more quickly, monitor their progress, forward files for validation and access archives based on their authorisation levels.
The pilot implementation brings together the SGG and the Directorate-General for Examinations and Competitions (DGEC). The two administrations have different operational requirements but share a need for structured, secure and efficient information management.
ANINF Director-General Alberto Mounguengui Moudoki presented the platform’s functionalities and practical benefits during the launch. Through the project, ANINF is supporting the digitalisation of administrative processes, document security, information-system integration and user support.
The initiative is expected to contribute to faster, more reliable and more accessible public services by improving how government documents are processed, shared and stored.
The launch forms part of Gabon’s wider digital transformation agenda, which places digital technologies at the centre of efforts to modernise public administration and strengthen the country’s digital sovereignty.
