Safaricom Ethiopia has expanded its customer service presence in Debre Markos City with the opening of three new customer service shops, strengthening access to telecommunications and digital financial services in North-West Ethiopia.
The new outlets were inaugurated at locations around King Tekle Haymanot Square, Debre Markos Hospital and Abema Mariam. The expansion forms part of Safaricom Ethiopia’s ongoing network capacity enhancement and customer service programme in the region.
The new shops are intended to bring Safaricom’s telecommunications and digital financial services closer to customers and communities in Debre Markos, providing additional points where customers can access services and receive support.
According to Safaricom Ethiopia, the three new shops have created employment opportunities for more than 250 people. The company said the jobs are contributing to local livelihoods and economic activity in communities where it operates.
Following the inauguration, Safaricom Ethiopia representatives engaged with businesses, market centres and community members around the new outlets.
The engagements focused on understanding customer needs, collecting feedback on service accessibility and identifying areas where the company can improve the overall customer experience.
The expansion comes as Safaricom Ethiopia continues to strengthen its presence across the country and expand access to telecommunications and digital financial services.
By establishing additional customer service points, the company is seeking to improve accessibility while maintaining closer engagement with communities and customers as its services continue to grow.
