NASENI has launched the Xceler8 Programme, a strategic accelerator initiative aimed at helping Nigerian innovators transform scientific and engineering breakthroughs into commercially viable businesses.

Implemented in partnership with AfriLabs, the programme targets innovators who have already developed functional prototypes, minimum viable products or commercially available solutions.

Selected participants will receive support in product refinement, business development, market access, technical mentorship, industry networking, investment readiness and business onboarding.

The programme will provide up to $25,000 in acceleration support per cohort, while the top 10 innovators will have an opportunity to pitch their businesses to investors and industry stakeholders during a Demo Day in Abuja.

NASENI says the initiative addresses a major challenge within the innovation ecosystem: moving promising technologies beyond the prototype stage and turning them into sustainable, scalable businesses.

The programme will also help participants strengthen their capabilities in product development, commercialisation, intellectual property, business strategy and investment readiness.

AfriLabs will leverage its network of more than 540 innovation hubs across 54 African countries to connect participating innovators with mentors, investors, corporate partners and potential markets.

The programme is open to Nigerians aged between 15 and 40 who have functional MVPs, live commercial products or evidence of paying customers, with a focus on solutions addressing real-world challenges.

By supporting the commercialisation of home-grown innovations, NASENI aims to help create new industries, generate employment and strengthen Nigeria’s capacity to develop technology-driven solutions for economic and social challenges.
