Mambu has launched Intelligent Core, a new strategic vision and technology architecture designed to bring core banking, payments and agentic AI together through a single open and composable platform.
The company says the architecture addresses a growing challenge for financial institutions: adopting AI on top of legacy banking cores that were not designed for real-time intelligence or autonomous action.
Intelligent Core builds on Mambu’s existing composable banking foundation across deposits, lending and Islamic banking. It combines Mambu Core and Mambu Payments with Mambu Agentic, a native intelligence layer designed to connect AI capabilities, specialised agents and autonomous workflows directly to the banking core.
As part of the launch, Mambu is introducing three capability layers within its agentic offering. The first is Model Context Protocol (MCP), which connects enterprise AI agents directly to core banking and payments data and context without requiring complex integrations.
The second is AI Insights, a curated data layer designed to provide trustworthy information for AI reasoning while surfacing insights around growth opportunities, risks and anomalies across portfolios and operations.
The third is Agents, which consists of configurable action agents that can gather data, reason within defined guardrails, perform authorised actions and explain their decisions. The agents can also be configured around business policies, approval thresholds and operational logic.
Mambu says bringing intelligence and the ledger together in one open architecture can help financial institutions accelerate product launches, automate high-volume operational processes and deliver more personalised services at scale.
The company also positions the architecture as a way to make AI more auditable and controlled, allowing financial institutions to determine where agents can act while maintaining configurable safeguards and oversight.
The launch reflects a broader shift in financial services toward combining banking infrastructure with AI capabilities that can move beyond analysis and support authorised actions directly within operational workflows.
