Orange Sierra Leone and Orange Money SL have joined government institutions, regulators and industry stakeholders in validating Sierra Leone’s National Roadmap to Combat Mobile and Digital Fraud.
The two-day consultative workshop, held from 18 to 19 August 2026, brought together telecommunications operators, mobile money providers, government agencies, civil society organisations and private-sector representatives to strengthen measures aimed at protecting consumers and securing the country’s digital financial ecosystem.
Discussions focused on fraud prevention, consumer protection, SIM registration, KYC compliance, fraud reporting mechanisms and public awareness. Orange Sierra Leone highlighted its real-time fraud detection systems and nationwide scam prevention initiatives.
The workshop concluded with the validation of the National Roadmap, marking a milestone in efforts to strengthen digital trust and improve the security of mobile money services across Sierra Leone.
Orange Sierra Leone said safeguarding customers remains a priority and that it will continue working with regulators, government institutions and industry partners through its anti-fraud mechanisms and recently launched Scam Alert Tool.
