Vodafone Group has completed the £4.3 billion (€4.9 billion) acquisition of CK Hutchison Group Telecom Holding’s remaining 49% stake in VodafoneThree, taking full ownership of the UK telecommunications company.
The transaction makes Vodafone the sole owner of VodafoneThree, the UK’s largest mobile operator and one of its fastest-growing broadband providers. The acquisition was fully funded through Vodafone Group’s existing cash resources.
Full ownership is expected to accelerate the delivery of VodafoneThree’s £11 billion network investment programme, enabling the company to expand next-generation connectivity, improve customer experience and strengthen the UK’s digital infrastructure.
Vodafone also expects to realize approximately £700 million in annual cost and capital expenditure synergies by the 2030 financial year, supporting long-term operational efficiency and shareholder value.
Vodafone Group Chief Executive Margherita Della Valle said full ownership provides the flexibility to accelerate the next phase of building one of Europe’s leading telecommunications networks while supporting the UK’s digital economy through improved nationwide connectivity.
The company will host a VodafoneThree Investor Briefing on October 8, 2026, where it will outline the business’s strategy, growth ambitions and long-term value creation plans.
