Raxio Group and AFR-IX Telecom have partnered to strengthen digital infrastructure in Angola and Mozambique, enabling enterprises, internet service providers, mobile operators and cloud providers to access enhanced regional and international connectivity through Raxio’s carrier-neutral data centres.
Under the collaboration, AFR-IX Telecom will deploy its advanced network infrastructure within Raxio’s Tier III-certified data centres in Angola and Mozambique. The deployment is expected to improve connectivity for cloud services, artificial intelligence (AI) applications and other data-intensive workloads while supporting the growing digital economies of both countries. The partnership also reinforces Angola and Mozambique’s position as emerging digital gateways for West-Central and Southern Africa.
AFR-IX’s decision to deploy through Raxio reflects the strength of the company’s digital infrastructure platform. Raxio operates the first independent carrier-neutral data centres in Angola and Mozambique to achieve Tier III certification, an internationally recognised standard for mission-critical infrastructure that delivers high availability, built-in redundancy and reliable service continuity.
The partnership combines Raxio’s carrier-neutral colocation infrastructure with AFR-IX Telecom’s extensive terrestrial and subsea network assets, enabling greater network diversity, improved resilience and more efficient traffic routing. Customers hosted within Raxio’s facilities in Luanda and Mozambique will gain direct access to AFR-IX’s pan-African network, improving connectivity to regional and international destinations while reducing latency and enhancing network performance.
As demand for cloud computing, AI services, content delivery networks (CDNs) and digital platforms continues to accelerate across Africa, the collaboration is expected to provide the resilient, future-ready infrastructure required to support digital transformation, strengthen local internet ecosystems and attract additional investment into the region’s digital economy.
