The Federal Government has begun deploying interactive Smart Boards at the Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) in Abeokuta as part of a wider push to digitize education management and strengthen data-driven governance across Nigeria’s education sector.

The rollout, conducted at the Ogun SUBEB Secretariat Complex in Oke-Mosan, is part of a broader national strategy to build a technology-enabled education database that improves how school data is collected, managed, and used for planning and policy development.

Ogun SUBEB leadership described the initiative as a major milestone in modernizing education administration, noting that the new digital tools will enhance monitoring, reporting, and overall efficiency in the education system while supporting more structured decision-making processes.

Officials from the Universal Basic Education Commission highlighted that the Smart Boards will play a key role in supporting the Annual School Census through the Digital National Education Management Information System (DNEMIS), enabling more accurate, real-time data collection across schools nationwide.

The initiative reflects Nigeria’s broader commitment to digitizing the education sector, strengthening institutional capacity, and improving learning outcomes through reliable data systems that support better resource allocation, planning, and accountability.
