Digital Realty has officially launched its first data center in Ghana, marking a significant milestone in the expansion of its global data center platform, PlatformDIGITAL®, across Africa. This launch underscores Digital Realty’s commitment to empowering the continent’s growing digital ecosystem with robust, secure, and interconnected infrastructure that enables innovation and sustainable growth.
Situated in the heart of Accra, the new facility, ACR2, is set to play a pivotal role in Ghana’s digital transformation journey. Positioned amid a dense network of fiber routes and subsea cables—including direct access to the 2Africa cable system—ACR2 will serve as a key hub connecting Ghana to global markets. With an expected 1.7MW of installed IT capacity, it will deliver carrier-neutral colocation services designed to meet the complex needs of enterprises, financial institutions, telcos, and the public sector.
Digital Realty’s Managing Director in Ghana, Joseph Koranteng, emphasized that the facility bridges the gap between compliance and performance, giving enterprises the infrastructure they need without compromise.
