Angolan telecommunications operator Unitel is participating as a sponsor in the first edition of Expo Icolo e Bengo 2026, showcasing its telecommunications and digital financial services while engaging with businesses and communities across the province.
The exhibition officially opened on 22 October at the Africa Manufacturing Centre in Catete, bringing together more than 200 exhibitors to promote the province’s economic potential, attract investment and encourage business partnerships. The event runs until 25 October.
During the opening, Icolo e Bengo Provincial Governor Auzílio Jacob visited Unitel’s stand alongside provincial officials, business representatives, traditional authorities and other attendees.
According to Unitel, the governor acknowledged the company’s efforts to address network challenges identified in the area. He also called for a stronger presence in Catete, including additional service centres and expanded services to improve residents’ access to telecommunications solutions.
Throughout the exhibition, Unitel is providing sales support and customer services, giving visitors and potential customers an opportunity to explore its offerings. Unitel Money, the company’s digital financial services subsidiary, is also participating in activities to attract new customers and promote the benefits of its digital wallet.
Unitel said its participation reflects its commitment to connectivity, innovation and customer engagement while supporting community development and Angola’s wider economic growth.
