Mercia Jennings has been appointed as the country manager for NEC XON’s newly established operation in Mauritius. With a strong strategic vision, Jennings is set to spearhead NEC’s growth and enhance its market presence in Mauritius and the wider Indian Ocean region. Her appointment marks a significant step forward for NEC as it aims to focus on critical areas such as smart cities, public safety, and infrastructure development.

With over twelve years of experience as a client-facing technology specialist, Jennings brings a wealth of knowledge to her new role. Previously, she served as a key account executive at NEC XON in South Africa, managing pivotal accounts such as the South African State Information Technology Agency and the Department of Higher Education. Her extensive background in the technology sector has equipped her with the skills necessary to lead NEC’s initiatives in Mauritius effectively.

During her tenure at NEC XON, Jennings has been instrumental in various key projects. Notably, she has contributed to the development of a WDM transmission and IP network for Seacom across South Africa and East Africa, as well as aiding Liquid Intelligent Technologies in constructing Microsoft Data Centres in Johannesburg and Cape Town. These experiences underline her capability to drive impactful technological solutions in the region.

Expressing her enthusiasm for the new challenges ahead, Jennings stated, “It’s time for new challenges, and I look forward to working in the enterprise space.” Her readiness to embrace these challenges reflects her commitment to fostering innovation and driving digital transformation in Mauritius.
