XA Network, a leading investment network founded by tech alumni in Southeast Asia, has officially expanded into Africa with the launch of XA Africa. This strategic move signifies the firm’s vision and commitment to fostering innovation and supporting promising startups on a global scale.
The newly established XA Africa is led by a team of accomplished tech professionals, including Nitin Gajria, former Managing Director of Google Sub-Saharan Africa; Jason Scott, a venture capitalist and key architect of the Black Founders Fund at Google; and Marek Dawidowicz, current Marketing Director at YouTube and a South African native. Together, they bring a wealth of experience to the African startup ecosystem.
Nitin Gajria, Co-Founder of XA Africa, emphasized the unique position of African technology startup founders in addressing the continent’s significant challenges and seizing its greatest opportunities. He articulated that the foray of XA Network into Africa represents a natural progression aimed at connecting remarkable founders with experienced operators from the tech industry.
XA Africa is dedicated to linking exceptional African tech founders with seasoned investors and industry experts, primarily from global and regional technology companies. This initiative aims to provide not just capital but also the essential guidance and support needed for startups to scale effectively in today’s competitive market.
Since its inception, XA Network has made substantial strides in Southeast Asia, making nearly 100 investments and consistently being ranked as the leading investment network in the region. The network comprises senior leaders from notable global and regional technology companies, which enhances its ability to offer unparalleled guidance and support to portfolio companies.
With its expansion into Africa, XA Africa aims to strengthen connections between the tech ecosystems of Africa and Southeast Asia. This investment hypothesis is already being validated through the successes of several African founders currently receiving support from XA Network.
