Absa Bank Kenya, in partnership with Visa, has unveiled Kenya’s first-ever metal-designed Infinite card, aimed at redefining the banking experience for affluent customers. This exclusive card blends sophistication with functionality, offering unique benefits that cater to the evolving needs of high-net-worth individuals. The card launch positions Absa as the first bank in Kenya to introduce a metallic card, setting new standards in banking innovation.
The Absa Visa Infinite Card offers an array of exclusive privileges, including unlimited access to over 1,200 airport lounges and 900 hotels worldwide, along with a 24-hour concierge service. Cardholders will also enjoy comprehensive travel insurance with triple coverage of up to $2.5 million, ensuring peace of mind during their travels. Additionally, buyer protection limits have been doubled, providing enhanced security for purchases.
This new offering demonstrates Absa’s commitment to delivering personalized banking solutions. Speaking at the launch, Absa Bank Kenya Managing Director Abdi Mohamed emphasized the importance of flexibility, efficiency, and tailored experiences in today’s banking landscape. He noted that the Infinite Card strengthens the bank’s affluent portfolio by delivering unmatched spending power, protection, and rewards to its high-value clients.
Visa East Africa Vice President and General Manager, Chad Pollock, echoed these sentiments, stating that the card’s unique privileges are designed to exceed cardholders’ expectations. With global acceptance and access to exclusive experiences, the metallic Infinite card is a significant step in enhancing Visa’s commitment to innovation and excellence in delivering premium customer experiences.
The launch also aligns with Absa’s sustainability goals. The metal design of the card gives it a longer lifespan than traditional plastic cards, contributing to the bank’s aim of becoming net zero by 2050. Moreover, 0.05% of every flight ticket purchased with the card will support tree-planting efforts, further reinforcing the bank’s dedication to environmental conservation.
Absa’s Affluent Banking Director, Seema de Souza, highlighted the bank’s readiness to meet the complex needs of affluent customers through comprehensive wealth solutions and personalized banking products. Absa’s team of dedicated relationship managers and digital banking platforms ensures that clients receive tailored services that meet both their personal and business financial needs.
