Latitude59, the premier startup and technology event in the Baltic States, is making its return to Kenya. Scheduled for November 28th, 2024, in Nairobi, this marks the second edition of Latitude59 in the city, following a successful event held last December.
The Latitude59 Kenya Edition 2024 aims to unite global startup communities, and Kenya’s burgeoning entrepreneurial scene makes it an ideal location. Last year’s event attracted nearly 800 participants from across Africa and the world, highlighting the region’s growing significance in the global startup ecosystem.
Liisi Org, CEO of Latitude59, emphasized that Kenya is a strategic choice for expanding Latitude59’s global reach. With a significant number of Estonian startups and tech companies already active in Africa, Kenya serves as a vital gateway for entrepreneurs aiming to enter the African market. The Kenyan startup ecosystem is rapidly emerging as a leader in the continent, drawing interest from international innovators.
Dolores Daniel, the project manager for Latitude59 Kenya Edition, praised the enthusiasm and ingenuity of Kenya’s young entrepreneurs. She expressed excitement about sharing knowledge and learning from the local community, particularly in finding innovative solutions to complex challenges and fostering bold entrepreneurial ventures.
Latitude59, which recently celebrated its 12th edition in Tallinn, Estonia, attracted over 3,500 attendees, including 600 investors managing portfolios totaling at least 30 billion euros. The event featured 195 speakers and representatives from more than 60 countries, reflecting its significant global impact.
The upcoming Nairobi event is part of Latitude59’s global village vision, aimed at amplifying Estonia’s success story and fostering international connections. By bringing together diverse startup communities, Latitude59 seeks to drive global conversations, initiate collaborations, and support the growth of local initiatives.
