Tobias Alando has been appointed as the new CEO of the Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM), succeeding Anthony Mwangi, who has stepped down from the position. Alando, who previously served as KAM’s Chief Operating Officer, brings a wealth of experience and an insider’s perspective to the role.

Jane Karuku, Chair of the KAM Board, made the announcement, acknowledging Mwangi’s contributions during his two-year tenure as CEO. The Board is currently in the process of seeking a permanent office holder to lead the association forward.

As CEO, Alando will be tasked with a range of responsibilities, including the development of annual work plans and advocacy on key issues affecting the manufacturing sector. The role requires a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree, a minimum of ten years of relevant experience, and a deep understanding of manufacturing challenges.

KAM remains steadfast in its commitment to its strategic goals and its mission to foster sustainable industrialisation. The association aims to drive prosperity for the nation through effective and innovative manufacturing practices.

The transition in leadership marks a significant moment for KAM, as it continues to support its members and stakeholders in advancing the industrial sector. The Board is confident that Alando’s appointment will strengthen the association’s efforts in promoting industrial growth and sustainability.
