Kingdom Bank has expanded its footprint in Kenya with the opening of its 22nd branch in Meru County, marking the third branch launch this year. This strategic move underscores the bank’s commitment to supporting the vibrant agricultural community and fostering local business growth in the region.

Anthony Mburu, Managing Director and CEO of Kingdom Bank, expressed enthusiasm during the branch launch, emphasizing the bank’s dedication to understanding and meeting the financial needs of Meru County’s productive agricultural sector and entrepreneurial community.

As a subsidiary of Cooperative Bank Group, Kingdom Bank aims to provide tailored financial solutions to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across Kenya. The expansion initiative aims to bring essential banking services closer to businesses, enhancing accessibility and support for their growth ambitions.

Since its acquisition from Jamii Bora Bank in 2020, Kingdom Bank has demonstrated robust growth, boasting an asset base of Sh36.7 billion and net earnings of Sh655 million in 2023. The bank’s expansion strategy includes the opening of additional branches in carefully selected locations nationwide, ensuring broader access to financial services.

Kingdom Bank plays a pivotal role in the Kenyan economy by supporting MSMEs, particularly in retail, agriculture, and manufacturing sectors. The bank’s dedicated agribusiness unit empowers stakeholders across the agricultural value chain, from input providers to farmers and food processors.

Godfrey Mburia, Director of Cooperative Bank of Kenya, welcomed Kingdom Bank to the Meru community, emphasizing the partnership’s potential to drive sustainable development and prosperity in the region. The new branch, located at Ntima Building along Tom Mboya Street in Meru Town, aims to strengthen local economic activities and contribute to community welfare.
