At the launch event, attended by Africell Group chairman Ziad Dalloul, CEO Shadi Al-Gerjawi, and Afrimoney managing director Martison Obeng-Agye, alongside government officials including Chief Minister David Moinina Sengeh and Minister of Communication Salima Bah, the partnership was celebrated as a milestone in expanding financial inclusion in Sierra Leone.
Martison Obeng-Agye expressed gratitude for the collaboration, highlighting how the Afrimoney-PYYPL Visa card combination empowers users with global access to financial services without the need for a traditional bank account. Mohamed Bah from PYYPL detailed the user-friendly registration process, requiring only a National ID Card or passport and an Africell number. The platform enables free transfers, regardless of transaction size, further enhancing convenience for users across Sierra Leone.
