Jambojet Launches 4 Weekly Zanzibar-Mombasa Flights

Exciting news from Jambojet! The airline has launched four weekly flights between Zanzibar and Mombasa, enhancing tourism and trade opportunities between Kenya and Tanzania.

CEO Karanja Ndegwa announced the inaugural flight, highlighting Jambojet’s commitment to affordable air travel with round trip fares starting at 24,420 Kenyan shillings. This move underscores their role in making air travel accessible across East Africa.

Operated by a De Havilland Dash 8 400 aircraft, the new route offers seamless connections to Nairobi, Dubai, Frankfurt, Milan, and other global destinations, expanding travel options for passengers.

Kenya’s Ambassador to Tanzania, Issac Njenga, lauded the route’s launch, emphasizing its significance in strengthening commercial, tourist, and cultural ties between the two nations. Enhanced connectivity aims to foster development along the East African coast.

Since its inception in 2014, Jambojet has served over 7.5 million passengers, capturing more than 54 percent of Kenya’s domestic air travel market share. The airline continues to expand its network, connecting cities like Nairobi, Kisumu, and Diani, as well as international destinations.

Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir highlighted the socio-economic benefits of the new route, predicting increased tourism and trade opportunities for both Zanzibar and Mombasa.
