The Tech Interactive, a leading science and technology education center in Silicon Valley, proudly welcomes Dr. Shikoh Gitau, CEO of Qhala, to its Board of Directors. Dr. Shikoh’s extensive experience in driving digital innovation across Africa will be instrumental as The Tech expands its global impact, particularly through The Tech Challenge program in Kenya.

As The Tech embarks on a five-year plan to enhance STEM education in Kenya, Dr. Shikoh’s deep connections within the African tech ecosystem will be vital. The expansion will initially focus on Nakuru, aiming to engage 10,000 youth by 2026. This initiative aligns with Kenya’s national STEM education goals, fostering local capacity in educators and students and inspiring the next generation of innovators.

Katrina Stevens, President and CEO of The Tech Interactive, emphasized the significance of Dr. Shikoh’s appointment: “Her passion for leveraging technology to solve complex challenges and her international perspective will drive our mission forward.” Dr. Shikoh’s experience at Safaricom Alpha, AfDB, Google, and Microsoft, coupled with her strategic advisory roles, positions her to greatly enhance The Tech’s initiatives.
