Naspers and its international internet assets division, Prosus, are pleased to announce the appointment of Fabricio Bloisi as Group CEO, effective July 1st. Bloisi, currently the CEO of iFood, brings a wealth of experience and innovation to his new role, succeeding Bob van Dijk who led Naspers since 2014 and Prosus since its IPO in 2019.
Bloisi’s appointment follows the unanimous approval from both boards and will see him also join the Naspers board as an executive director starting July 1st. Additionally, he is expected to join the Prosus board after their Annual General Meeting in August 2024, pending shareholder approval. This strategic leadership change is set to guide the group through its next phase of growth and innovation in the global technology sector.
Koos Bekker, Chairman of Prosus and Naspers, expressed strong confidence in Bloisi’s leadership, citing his impressive track record with iFood, where he drove innovation and operational excellence. Bekker also highlighted the outstanding work of Ervin Tu as interim Group CEO, who will now transition to President and Chief Investment Officer, focusing on strategic direction and capital allocation.
Fabricio Bloisi shared his gratitude and excitement for the new role, emphasizing the transformative power of technology in emerging markets. His leadership aims to drive continued growth and innovation at Naspers and Prosus, building on the group’s strategic objectives, including achieving e-commerce trading profit in H2 FY2024 and maintaining the open-ended share repurchase program.
