Bata Corporation gears up for expansive growth in Kenya, announcing plans to open 10 new retail outlets this year. Managing Director Benson Okumu emphasizes the company’s commitment to enhancing customer experience through strategic investments and domestic franchising initiatives.

With over Sh400 million invested in state-of-the-art facilities, store upgrades, and new channels like domestic franchising, Bata reaffirms its dedication to meeting evolving consumer demands in Kenya’s dynamic footwear market. Mr. Okumu highlights the importance of understanding customer demographics and delivering style, value, and durability to stay competitive amidst shifting market dynamics.

Despite market challenges, Bata remains optimistic about growth, targeting a 15% increase following last year’s impressive 27% expansion. From school shoes to casual and formal wear, Bata offers a diverse range of footwear options, manufactured locally in its Limuru factory and exported across the region.

Regionally, Bata’s footprint extends across East Africa and beyond, with stores in Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi, South Sudan, and beyond. By strategically locating stores near high-traffic areas, Bata ensures accessibility and convenience for customers, reinforcing its position as a leading footwear brand in the region.
