Uganda has launched the MTN Spark Hub at Busitema University, creating a new space designed to expand access to digital tools, technology skills and innovation opportunities for students and surrounding communities.
The initiative is powered by the MTN Uganda Foundation in partnership with the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance, MTN Uganda, Cente Tech and the National ICT Innovation Hub.
The newly established hub will provide students and members of the wider community with access to digital resources and opportunities for skills development. It is also intended to support the creation of innovative solutions addressing real-world challenges.
Through the facility, students can gain greater exposure to technology while developing digital skills that can support entrepreneurship, innovation and future employment opportunities.
The hub is expected to provide an environment where young people can experiment with technology, develop ideas and transform them into practical solutions for challenges within their communities.
The launch forms part of wider efforts to strengthen Uganda’s digital ecosystem by expanding access to technology and creating more opportunities for young people to participate in the digital economy.
Partnerships between government, technology companies, universities and innovation organisations are increasingly supporting the development of digital skills and entrepreneurial capacity across Uganda.
The MTN Spark Hub at Busitema University therefore adds another platform through which students and communities can access digital resources, develop relevant skills and contribute to Uganda’s growing technology and innovation landscape.
