Côte d’Ivoire is strengthening its artificial intelligence ambitions through a new strategic partnership between the Ministry of Digital Transition and Technological Innovation (MTNIT) and Mistral, a European artificial intelligence company.

The collaboration is focused on supporting the country’s broader digital transformation agenda and assessing the readiness of its digital ecosystem for the deployment of artificial intelligence.

A primary objective of the partnership is to conduct an audit of Côte d’Ivoire’s digital ecosystem to identify the most suitable conditions for implementing AI across key sectors.

The assessment will focus particularly on public administration, healthcare, education and agriculture, where artificial intelligence could support improved service delivery, innovation and operational efficiency.

The initiative forms part of the momentum surrounding the 40 structuring projects outlined in the country’s 2026–2028 Digital Roadmap, led by MTNIT.

The initial findings from the mission are expected to contribute to discussions at IMPACT IA 2026, scheduled to take place in Abidjan from September 9 to 11, 2026.

The partnership reflects Côte d’Ivoire’s growing focus on building the foundations needed for the responsible and effective deployment of artificial intelligence across sectors critical to national development.
