Ghana is strengthening its cybersecurity cooperation with the United Kingdom as part of efforts to build a safer, more resilient and trusted digital ecosystem.
The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) said discussions with the British High Commission focused on deepening UK–Ghana collaboration across key cybersecurity priorities, including tackling cyber-enabled crime and financial fraud, promoting child online protection, strengthening cyber capacity building and advancing international cyber governance.
A key area of discussion was the Pall Mall Process, with the CSA emphasising the importance of expanding African participation and translating its principles into practical action. The process seeks to support international cooperation on the responsible use of commercial cyber intrusion capabilities while maintaining strong protections for human rights.
The engagement also explored ways to increase cybersecurity awareness among secondary school students and strengthen partnerships focused on child online safety. Greater regional cooperation across Africa was also identified as an important component of building stronger cyber resilience.
As digital adoption expands across Ghana and the wider African continent, cybersecurity threats are becoming increasingly complex, affecting individuals, businesses, financial institutions and public-sector organisations.
The CSA said continued strategic partnerships, practical interventions and regional collaboration will be critical to strengthening Ghana’s cybersecurity capabilities and maintaining its position as a leading player in Africa’s cybersecurity landscape.
The cooperation with the United Kingdom is expected to contribute to stronger cyber capacity, improved protection for vulnerable online users and greater coordination in addressing cyber-enabled crime and emerging digital threats.
The engagement also highlights the importance of international collaboration in developing cybersecurity frameworks that balance digital security, innovation and the protection of fundamental rights.
