Visa has unveiled AI Financial Assistant, a new generative AI-powered service that enables financial institutions to deliver personalised financial guidance directly within their mobile banking applications without requiring custom development.
The solution allows banks to offer AI-driven financial assistance under their own branding while operating within their existing digital banking platforms. As consumer demand for AI-powered financial tools continues to grow, Visa says the service helps banks strengthen customer relationships while maintaining the trust, security and compliance expected from regulated financial institutions.
AI Financial Assistant enables customers to ask financial questions using natural language, receive personalised spending insights and complete everyday banking tasks such as locking payment cards or setting account alerts through a conversational interface.
Future enhancements will include advanced spending analysis and subscription management capabilities powered by Visa’s Enhanced Subscription Manager.
The solution is integrated into Visa Digital Issuer Solutions, creating a unified conversational experience within banking apps. Financial institutions can also connect product information, customer support resources and other digital banking services, allowing customers to access assistance through a single AI-powered interface.
According to Visa, the platform leverages insights from more than 300 billion annual transactions alongside customer and financial institution data to generate personalised recommendations while adhering to the company’s AI governance, security, compliance and fraud prevention standards.
Visa plans to launch AI Financial Assistant through a pilot programme for financial institutions in the United States beginning in August 2026, with broader international expansion planned thereafter.
