Telecom Namibia has hosted students from the International University of Management (IUM) at its Wanaheda Network Site, providing practical exposure to telecommunications infrastructure and mobile network technologies.
The visit formed part of IUM’s planned educational tour and was led by Andrew Monderu, an Implementation and Rollout Engineer at Telecom Namibia.
During the tour, students explored TN Mobile’s indoor and outdoor network tower facilities and learned about the technologies supporting second-generation (2G), third-generation (3G) and fourth-generation (4G) mobile networks.
The engagement aimed to bridge the gap between academic theory and industry practice by giving students firsthand insight into the infrastructure and operations that support telecommunications services.
Telecom Namibia said the initiative reflects its commitment to knowledge-sharing, youth empowerment and equipping future information and communications technology (ICT) professionals with practical industry experience.
The visit also gave students an opportunity to learn more about telecommunications operations and gain insights that could help inform their future careers in the ICT sector.
By connecting classroom learning with real-world infrastructure, the engagement highlights the role of industry exposure in preparing students for careers in telecommunications and digital technology.
