Rwanda’s Ministry of ICT and Innovation (MINICT) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with AI Skills and Compute Africa to strengthen collaboration in artificial intelligence (AI), focusing on skills development, research, innovation and locally relevant solutions.
The partnership aims to develop Rwanda’s AI talent and support the responsible development and use of emerging technologies in line with the country’s national priorities.
Under the agreement, the two organisations will focus on building local capacity and advancing research and innovation to encourage the development of AI solutions that address Rwanda’s needs.
The collaboration forms part of Rwanda’s broader efforts to strengthen its technology ecosystem and expand the skills and capabilities required to develop and adopt emerging technologies responsibly.
By prioritising talent development, research and locally relevant innovation, the partnership seeks to support Rwanda’s capacity to participate in the evolving AI landscape while aligning technological progress with national development priorities.
