Mastercard and Tamatem have partnered to enhance in-app gaming payment experiences across the Middle East and Africa, with the collaboration initially launching in Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

Under the agreement, Mastercard Gateway, available through Mastercard Merchant Cloud, will become the payment gateway behind Tamatem Plus, Tamatem’s white-label digital commerce platform and marketplace. The solution is expected to expand across more than 13 markets in the region.

The partnership comes as the MENA gaming market continues to grow. The market reached approximately $7.1 billion in 2025, representing 7.5% year-on-year growth, according to a recent report.

Through the integration, gamers using Tamatem Plus will be able to access localised web stores and in-game checkout experiences using cards, local alternative payment methods and telco wallet balances. Authentication and fraud protection will also be integrated into the payment experience.

Tamatem Plus currently powers more than 30 localised storefronts and provides access to over 50 local payment methods through a single integration. The Mastercard Gateway partnership will also provide technical support, multiple local and international acquirer connections, training and knowledge transfer.

The collaboration is designed to give gaming publishers a direct-to-consumer channel while helping them strengthen relationships with players and gain greater control over payment and purchasing experiences across MENA.
