Nutanix has been recognised as a Leader in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Distributed Hybrid Infrastructure, highlighting the continued development of its Nutanix Cloud Platform (NCP).

NCP provides organisations with a unified platform for running and managing AI workloads, applications and data across on-premises, cloud and edge environments. The platform is designed to give customers flexibility in how and where they deploy infrastructure while maintaining a consistent operating model.

Over the past year, Nutanix has expanded NCP with capabilities supporting agentic AI, advanced Kubernetes deployments through the introduction of NKP Metal, broader support for external storage and server infrastructure, and additional deployment options for sovereign and regulated environments.

Nutanix Cloud Clusters (NC2) is available across Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure, alongside deployment options for sovereign cloud and service provider environments. The company has also expanded support for enterprise servers and external storage, including Dell PowerStore, Everpure FlashArray, Dell PowerFlex and limited availability for NetApp ONTAP.

Nutanix is also expanding its virtualisation and cloud-native capabilities through an architecture that brings virtual machines and containers under a consistent operating model. NKP Metal extends this approach to bare-metal Kubernetes environments, with general availability expected in the second half of 2026.

The platform has further added agentic AI capabilities focused on model governance, security and agent-driven operations. Nutanix has also announced a strategic neocloud partnership with ChronoScale to extend its platform into accelerated compute and AI services.

Thomas Cornely, Executive Vice President of Product Management at Nutanix, said the recognition reflects the continued evolution of NCP as organisations address increasingly complex hybrid cloud environments and requirements around AI, application modernisation and sovereignty.

Together, the platform developments expand the range of workloads and infrastructure environments that NCP can support, spanning traditional enterprise applications, cloud-native applications and AI workloads.
