Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has held discussions with NVIDIA on expanding cooperation in artificial intelligence, computing, digital skills development, research and development, and support for startups and entrepreneurs. The meeting brought together Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology Raafat Hindy and Paolo Guglielmini, NVIDIA’s Vice President for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The discussions focused on strengthening Egypt’s local capabilities in AI and computing to meet the needs of developers, researchers and institutions. The two sides also explored access to specialised technical and training programmes covering artificial intelligence, deep learning and training-of-trainers initiatives.
Support for Egypt’s innovation ecosystem was another area of focus, with the proposed cooperation expected to include support for entrepreneurs and startups, as well as research and development in advanced technologies. The discussions also considered preparing a memorandum of understanding to define the proposed areas of cooperation.
Egypt also outlined progress under its national AI strategy, including efforts to expand AI adoption across government, develop specialised talent and strengthen institutions supporting AI and innovation. The discussions covered the second phase of the National AI Strategy for 2025 to 2030 and opportunities to support its implementation.
The meeting adds to Egypt’s growing engagement with global technology companies as the country works to develop local AI capabilities, strengthen its technology talent base and support the growth of an innovation-driven digital economy.
