Cameroon Telecommunications (Camtel) is expanding digital connectivity in schools across Cameroon through the deployment of its optical fibre network, supporting efforts to strengthen digital inclusion in education.

The telecommunications company said it is rolling out fibre connectivity to educational institutions across the country, covering communities from the northern to southern and eastern to western regions.

The initiative is designed to improve internet access in schools and provide students with greater access to digital educational resources and learning content from around the world.

By extending fibre connectivity to educational institutions, Camtel aims to help create more equal access to digital learning opportunities for young people, particularly as technology becomes increasingly important in education.

The programme forms part of Camtel’s broader digital inclusion efforts and its focus on supporting technology-enabled education across Cameroon.

With reliable connectivity positioned as an important foundation for digital learning, the rollout is expected to help schools access online educational materials while giving students greater opportunities to develop digital skills and engage with global knowledge.
